Foreword to the Enduro Premium Week in the Kingdom Between Sahara and Atlas:
For over a quarter of a century, OVERCROSS has been organizing adventure motorcycle tours. In our younger years, adventure meant a tent, hard ground, canned food by the campfire, and Lambrusco from the bottle. Today, luxury has found its way into adventure motorcycle travel. On this Morocco travel enduro tour, both on-road and, if desired, off-road, our adventure is the pleasure of motorcycling on roads and gravel paths. We stay in excellent Riads or Kasbahs and crown the eventful day with a good dinner and even better wine. Stopovers in the royal cities allow us to explore Moorish cuisine and savor the culinary and cultural highlights with the OVERCROSS tour guide.
Tour Highlights in this Motorcycle Adventure:
- Overnight in Kasbahs
- Marrakech heritage sites
- The Atlas Mountains
- Ajdir National Park
- Incredible film set locations
- Berber Culture

Travel to Morocco for the Start of the Motorcycle Tour in Marrakech
Takeoff and goodbye to chilly Europe: Airlines such as Lufthansa, Royal Air Maroc, Air France, Iberia, TAP Portugal, Ryanair, and EasyJet fly daily from Frankfurt to Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) in about three and a half hours, where you must land between 9:00 and 19:00 on Saturday.
A driver will take you from Menara Airport to our Riad, not far from the Jemaa el-Fnaa, where we will spend the evening. After sunset, we will experience the Jemaa el-Fnaa (a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001) with its unique blend of tradition and modernity. On this so-called assembly place of the dead, we will enjoy tajine and couscous amidst snake charmers, acrobats, musicians, beggars, and performers under flickering lamps on hard benches in one of the food stalls.
Morocco Destination: Motorcycle travel with OVERCROSS Tour and Expedition Operator
Day 1: On the Road Along the Atlas Mountains:
Winter in Europe is cold, but here in North Africa, we have perfect motorcycling temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. We traverse the landscape of the Atlas Mountains, where majestic Kasbahs sit perched on rocky outcrops. In one such Kasbah, an elegant retreat from bygone days, you will feel surrounded by tranquility and luxury. Enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys.

Day 2: OFF the Road Between Berbers and High Culture:
We start our motorcycles early in the morning and weave through the city traffic heading south. Ahead lies the Middle Atlas. Passing traditional nomadic mountain villages along ancient caravan routes, we ride the enduros on the connecting stages that have been used for over 1,000 years. Here, we are in the midst of a sensational geological history of continental plate shifts dating back to the formation of the Sahara around 7 million years ago. The small roads and gravel paths are geographically spectacular, offering sensational enduro trails through the Middle Atlas, past typical Moroccan mountain villages, often formed due to the geological formations and the fertility of the agricultural surroundings.

Day 3: Motorcycle Journey Through the Middle Atlas
After a hearty breakfast and a quick check-up of the motorcycles, we start today through the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Crossing the ancient connection routes of the salt caravans from Timbuktu, we ride our travel enduros through the gorges of the Middle Atlas to the Affensee, where we can take a dip in the cold water. The relaxed and technically easy riding day ends in the fascinating city of Fes, known for its tanneries. We will stay in a small hotel in the old town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and after exploring the architectural treasures of the old city center, we will enjoy dinner near the tanneries.

Day 4: Gravel Road on the Stairway to Heaven
Today is a typical on-and off-road travel day, through one of the most renowned outdoor areas known for bird and wildlife observation. The enduro group will cross the Ajdir National Park on long stretches heading towards the Sahara.

Day 5: On the Road in James Bond’s Footsteps
The entire country is a fantastic film set, with movies like "Lawrence of Arabia" (1962), "The Man Who Would Be King" (1975), "Gladiator" (2000), "James Bond" (1983-1997-2015), "Babel" (2006), and "Hidalgo" (2004) filmed here. Today is the day of "legends". On our route, we will drive through legendary film locations, stopping for coffee at Spectre in "Ait Ben Haddou" and hoping Daniel Craig and the lovely Léa Seydoux will buy us a round.

Day 6: On the Way to the Cultural Capital Marrakech
A cool enduro route takes us along old supply stations and trade routes, which were once crucial for the salt route caravans. At various stations and checkpoints of the old caravanserais, we will spend the last hours of the journey soaking up pure culture. Dusty, sweaty, and unshaven, we roll into the most fascinating city in Morocco: Marrakech! We shed our enduro gear, take a dip in the pool, have a good cold "target beer", and prepare for the last evening of this luxurious adventure on-and off-road enduro tour. As the sun sets, "the last supper" is served, and we enjoy the final evening like a painting by Leonardo da Vinci, with wine, song, and celebration.

Day 7: Last Day in the Cultural Capital Marrakech
The sun rises, warming our souls one last time on the motorcycle tour in Morocco. We sit with a hot cup of coffee and enjoy the final hours in North Africa. After a hearty breakfast and farewells to the other motorcycle travelers, a driver takes you to Menara Airport (RAK), located 6 kilometers southwest of Marrakech. Sweaters on, down jackets zipped up - it's back to the refrigerator that is Europe.
