Nepal - The land of Mount Everest. Pure Himalaya. But Nepal offers the traveller far more than mountain giants. The wild and breathtaking nature, the Buddhist monasteries, the Hindu culture and the kindness of the people make our motorbike tour through Nepal a unique experience.
Kathmandu, the ancient royal city of Gorkha, Pokhara at the foot of Annapurna, the tropical lowlands and Mount Everest are just some of the highlights of this motorbike tour.
After arriving in Kathmandu, we settle into the hotel and have a first tour briefing over dinner.
We take a whole day to acclimatise: during a walk to Durbar Square and Swajambu Temple ("Monkey Temple") with its magnificent view of Kathmandu, we look forward to the following days and recharge our batteries.
By bus we drive 100 km west: leisurely lunch at the Trisuli River. Afterwards we receive our most important travel companions: the Royal Enfields. We swing ourselves onto the saddles of the royal motorbikes and roar off. The first stage takes us to Bandipur. Bandipur is a wonderfully restored village with a magnificent Himalayan panorama.
We swing down into the valley and on along the Himalayas to Pokhara.
The next morning we get up early because we don't want to miss the fantastic sunrise in nearby Sarangkot. The rest of the day we relax at Fewa Lake and catch up on some sleep.
Today we get to know rural Nepal. On the Siddharta Highway we drive through the mountains, always with the mighty panorama of the Himalayas in front of us, past the typical rice terraces to the traditional village of Tansen.
From the foothills of the Himalayas, our motorbike journey takes us to the Terai Plains and Chitwan National Park. The "Island Jungle Resort" on an island in the national park is our base camp for the next two nights.
From the back of an elephant we look out for tigers, rhinos, crocodiles and monkeys.
During a walk through a typical Nepalese village we also have the opportunity to visit a farm from the inside. We then ride the motorbikes to Hetauda.
Our drive through the winding foothills of the Himalayas takes us to Bhaktatpur, one of the most beautiful cities in Asia.
At the suggestion of many of our participants, we spend the next day in the beautiful city of Bhaktapur! We enjoy the outstanding atmosphere and architecture.
Along beautiful terraced fields, the border to Tibet comes closer and closer. In the village of Charikot (2000 metres above sea level) we spend the night.
Our motorbikes take us down to Barabise, to the adventure camp. Here you can let off steam as you please: Climbing or with a bungee jump.
But you can also drive on a dusty track to the Tibetan border at Kodari and take a bath in the hot springs at Tattopani! At Borderland Resort we have the opportunity to go rock climbing, bungee jumping or white water rafting.
At the end of the trip, there's a special highlight: a spectacular sightseeing flight into the Everest massif. An 18-seater plane with guaranteed window seats will bring you into close contact with the highest mountain in the world.
After the climax and end point of the Nepal adventure trip, we buy a few souvenirs for the people back home, take off from Kathmandu and fly home. Until next time? For sure!
