DAY 7: JAIPUR - NIMAJ - A hidden gem (229 km / 5 hours)

Drive to Nimaj village and check-in at Chhatrasagar Luxury Tented Accommodation.

Luxury tents have always played an important role in the Rajput lifestyle. Constant safari campaigns in remote regions meant long stays in tents in harsh conditions. These tents were the only luxury and soon developed into mobile mini-palaces. The RAAS Chhatrasagar captures this romantic charm. RAAS Chhatrasagar offers a diverse birdlife with over 250 species. Guests can experience birdlife at close quarters almost anywhere in the camp.

A series of luxury tents built on the embankment of a reservoir: This retreat captures bygone times, leisure activities and culinary experiences in a rural setting, away from the hustle and bustle of India's big cities. The kitchen crew prepares local and international dishes using home-grown ingredients, and locally engaged staff can plan customised day trips to remote villages. An authentic cultural experience does not mean sacrificing comfort: There's a spa with massages and Ayurvedic treatments, as well as a heated swimming pool.

Drive to Mihirgarh. The local craftsmen have transformed this humble heritage-style estate into a royal retreat.

Mihirgarh tells of a forgotten history of rural art and architecture. Mihir Garh rises like an imposing fortress, a symbol of strength in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan. Amidst the barren surroundings, Mihir Garh is one of the most mesmerising luxury hotels in the world.

Perched on a sand dune overlooking the parched earth and shrubs of the Thar Desert, Mihir Garh - or the Fortress of the Sun - was a labour of love for owner Sidharth Singh, who was guided by intuition rather than reason. More than 100 local craftsmen and carpenters worked for two years to create nine 1700 square foot suites, each with its own plunge pool, fireplace (made in the local style from cow dung) and furnished with furniture from Jodhpur.

Arrival and check-in at your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or explore the surroundings of Mihirgarh.

Overnight stay at your luxury hotel : Mihirgarh.

DAY 11: MIHIRGARH - UDAIPUR - Venice of the East (226 km / 5 hours)

Morning at leisure. Drive to the imposing and peaceful Ranakpur Temple.

Ranakpur is known for its breathtaking Jain temples. The Chaumukha temple here is one of the main attractions of the R anakpur region. It is dedicated to Adinatha, the first Tirthankara of Jainism. The temple was built in the 15th century and this architectural masterpiece has 1444 intricately carved marble pillars. The name Chaumukha means four-faced and is aptly derived from the four-faced statue of Adinatha, which is visible from every corner of the temple.

Ranakpur is synonymous with the white marble that adorns its temples. The details on the pillars, domes and arches showcase the craftsmanship of the artists who carved these structures. The fine latticework, floral motifs and mythological figures tell stories of dedication and skill that have been passed down through generations. After the visit, continue to Udaipur - the city of lakes.

Overnight stay in your luxury hotel: Taj Lake Palace

DAY 12: UDAIPUR

Situated on the southern side of the Aravalli Mountains, the historical spectacle of Udaipur welcomes travellers with its cultural vibrancy and fascinating lakes. Once the capital of the Mewar kingdom, Udaipur exudes a tranquil atmosphere unlike other parts of Rajasthan. This very peaceful city regularly features in the top 10 most beautiful cities in the world.

The uniqueness of the city lies in its Rajput-style palaces and forts. Since Udaipur is made of white marble, this city of lakes is also known as the ‘White City’. It is known as the Venice of the East, the City of Lakes and one of the most romantic destinations in India.

With its well-preserved palaces, temples, havelis, ghats and the fairytale Lake Palace at its heart, it's easy to see why Udaipur is described as such.

Founded in 1559 by Maharaja Udai Singh, Udaipur became the last capital of the Rajput kingdom of Mewar. Today, it is a shining example of heritage tourism in India. You will visit the City Palace, the Maids' Garden and drive to the Monsoon Palace on the heights. From there you will enjoy a panoramic view of Udaipur.

Overnight stay in your luxury hotel: Taj Lake Palace

DAY 13: UDAIPUR - DELHI [FLIGHT]

We transfer you to Udaipur airport from where you board your flight to Delhi. From Delhi, you can travel on to your next destination or let us help you discover even more of Incredible India with an extension to your tour.
